Why dogs die young these days…

When you were a kid you might had a dog or a cat, and now you might have a dog or a cat for your children, but have you ever compared the lifespan of the animal you had and the animal your kids have now?

In the old days pets use to have more exciting life and find some more exciting ways of leaving this world – under the wheels of a car, by the teeth of some wild animal or simply by going for a run and never coming back so you never knew how your buddy ended up, but now… all we hear from around the neighbours are pretty much diseases, tumours and other boring, disgusting and painful last goodbyes.

On daily basis walking your animal or simply hiking through local park you see animals with tumours sticking out of their bodies being walked by their owners…

So why is this happening – what changed during the years and why nobody cares… why people simply take their sick, tumour obsessed, but insured… animal for a walk instead of trying to do something about it?

Let’s try to look into this situation in correlation with few events that in recent years happened in small and not very successful Eastern European country called Latvia where multiple local veterinary professionals went against local dog food manufacturer after multiple dog death cases were linked to their dog food and which resulted in all of those veterinary professionals being sued by this manufacturer…
